Mike Hagan

Michael Hagan joined LifeShield, Inc. as President and Chief Executive Officer in December 2009. Prior to joining LifeShield, Hagan served as Chairman of the Board and as Chief Executive Officer of Nutrisystem, Inc. from 2002 to 2008. Mr. Hagan led a team that turned around a struggling $27 million weight loss company and transformed it into a leading weight loss provider, reaching $778 million in sales by 2007. Under his direction, the company earned many distinctions including Forbes magazine’s #1 ranking of best public small companies in 2006.

He’s also Forbes magazine’s Entrepreneur of the Year for 2006 and a two time Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award winner for the Philadelphia region. Previously, Mr. Hagan co-founded Verticalnet, Inc., a technology firm that provides supply management software and also created and managed industry specific “vertical” marketplaces. Prior to founding Verticalnet, Mr. Hagan served as a Vice President and Senior Manager at Merrill Lynch Asset Management from 1990 to 1995. Mr. Hagan currently serves as a Director at Internet Capital Group, Inc.

Mr. Hagan has served as a member of the board of trustees of Saint Joseph’s University and various other private and public companies. He received a BS from St. Joseph’s University and was formerly a Certified Public Accountant.
